Anupama is perplexed by a concealed receipt in the “Anupama” episode that aired on September 18, 2023. She sees a receipt for $25,000 and guesses it has something to do with an ashram or even an orphanage. She considers the possibility that Gurumaa might have surrendered her son to an orphanage for a moment but swiftly rejects it since she thinks that no mother would do such a thing. Anupama hypothesises that her son, if he had been given away, would now be older than 40 and possibly no longer be in the orphanage. She makes the decision to look for her son.
While Baa plays with her unborn child, Kavya is happy that Baa thanked her for her assistance. Baa is shown being fed soup by Kinjal, but she says she would rather have poison. Vanraj makes fun of Baa by joking that the fatty sweets she loves are poison to her. He urges her to eat more healthfully. Baa is reminded by Kinjal to take her blood pressure medication as directed. Baa agrees to accept it grudgingly. Baa had pledged to properly look after her health, says Babu ji. Although Vanraj humorously cautions her about a likely five-page lecture from Anupama, Baa asserts that she is not afraid of her. Baa chooses soup as the superior choice.
Vanraj acknowledges that Anupama is already under stress from Malti Devi’s presence and that he hasn’t told her about Baa’s health yet. Anupama can become irritated if she isn’t informed, according to Kinjal.
Anupama comes home later and goes inside the bedroom. Anuj awakens after she removes a file from his grasp. When Anuj inquires as to her whereabouts, Anupama replies that she had visited Gurukul. Her concern for Anuj touches him. When Anuj coughs, Anupama’s attempt to talk about the file is cut short. She offers him water and inquires as to if they have ice cream. Anuj makes light of the fact that they are still up to mischief and offers to bring ice cream the following time. Then, Anupama tells him about Baa’s fainting episode. Anuj is perplexed as to why he wasn’t told earlier. Anupama says that they had just learned the news and advises taking Baa to a reputable physician. Anuj is praised by Anupama for being a great spouse, and he makes the suggestion that Baa could feel better after visiting her kid. Anupama says she doesn’t know where her son is. She should rest, says Anuj, and they may continue their conversation the following day.
Vanraj enters Baa and Babu ji’s chamber in a different scene of the episode to check on their respiration. He is questioned about his behaviour when Baa awakens. Vanraj professes his love for Baa and Babu ji and admits that he finds it difficult to comprehend how kids manage without their parents. He is reassured by Baa, who also points him that they will eventually have to go. Vanraj dislikes the notion and wants children to always be safe and content by his side. Vanraj and Baa laugh together as Baa tells him, “I love you.” Vanraj notices her saying “I love you” even as she laughs.
Babu ji enters the conversation and declares his love for Leela. Babu ji replies that they should say it whenever they feel like it when Baa asks if he’s awake. One can never predict when the time will arrive, he continues. He concurs with Baa, and the two of them feel the same way about Vanraj becoming a loving husband to Kavya.
In the closing scenes, Anupama can be seen praying for Gurumaa to see her son and performing a tulsi puja. She understands Gurumaa’s predicament and realises how difficult it must have been for her to leave her son in an orphanage. She is interrupted in her prayers by Samar, who informs her that his best buddy Manoj perished in a car accident. Samar is consoled by Anupama, who urges him to care for Manoj’s family in particular because Manoj’s wife is expecting a child. Samar makes the decision to get insurance for Manoj’s child after giving fatherhood some thought. Samar receives assurance from Anupama that nothing will happen to her kids.
Anupama ends her prayers by wishing both Malti Devi and Manoj well. She recalls that Malti Devi is her shishya (disciple) and that she was meant to take her to America even though they never did by displaying a photo of the two of them together. Malti Devi is reassured by Anupama that she will soon regain her memory.
In the meantime, Anuj finds the file he was seeking for earlier in the cabinet drawer, setting up the plot’s subsequent developments.
