BTS Renew Contract with HYBE and BIGHIT Music

The renowned South Korean boyband, BTS, has officially extended their collaboration with HYBE and BIGHIT Music, securing their commitment well beyond 2025. Discover more about their continued partnership and upcoming projects.

BTS Extends Their Contract with HYBE and BIGHIT Music

BTS, the widely adored South Korean boyband, has opted to prolong their affiliation with HYBE and BIGHIT Music, their longstanding record labels. This decision emerged as some BTS members were fulfilling their mandatory military service obligations.

The labels have reassured fans that BTS will persist in crafting new music and engaging in projects commencing in 2025. They are in the process of finalizing individual contracts that accommodate the military service schedules of each member, with the expectation that all members currently in military service will have completed their terms by 2025.

Last summer, BTS announced a brief hiatus as several members embarked on military service and explored solo careers. Each member experienced individual triumphs on the Billboard charts, notably V’s solo album “Layover,” which debuted at an impressive No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. Some members, including Suga, Jin, and J-Hope, have already commenced their mandatory military service, which typically spans 18-21 months in South Korea.

In addition to the contract renewal, Big Hit, the parent company, unveiled a generous donation of 1 billion South Korean won (approximately $700,000 USD) to the Korean Committee for UNICEF. This donation serves as a token of gratitude to BTS and their devoted fan base, ARMY, and is an integral part of the Love Myself campaign, a collaborative initiative with BTS that commenced in November 2017.

BTS Members Extend Their Contract with BIGHIT

The seven members of the globally acclaimed K-pop sensation BTS have officially extended their contracts with their agency, BigHit Music, for the second time. This remarkable septet comprises RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.

The decision to prolong their contracts received the green light from Hybe, the parent company of BigHit, thereby ensuring a seamless contract extension and paving the way for BTS to reunite as a complete ensemble in 2025, following individual mandatory military service commitments.

BTS originally made their debut under Big Hit Entertainment (the precursor to Hybe) in 2013, with their initial contract renewals occurring in October 2018. Their phenomenal achievements have solidified their status as the first K-pop act to dominate the U.S. Billboard’s Hot 100 singles chart and the Billboard 200 albums chart, with six songs and albums achieving the pinnacle of these charts. This contract extension guarantees that the beloved group will continue their extraordinary journey within the music industry.
