Mel Tucker is an American football coach and former player. He has held the post as Head Football Coach in the state of Michigan at Michigan State University since 2020 and, as the last update on my knowledge at the end of September in 2021, Tucker was in the position. Before this, Tucker served as the head football coach at Colorado State University in 2019. University of Colorado in 2019. As well as his coaching duties, Tucker has experience in the NFL. He was the temporary chief coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars for the last five games of the 2011 NFL season. He has also been the defensive backs coach at various institutions including Ohio State, Alabama, and the University of Georgia, and as the defensive coordinator for the NFL’s Chicago Bears and the University of Alabama. A notable event in his career was the substantial contract he was awarded by Michigan State in November 2021. The 10-year, $95 million contract made Tucker one of the most highly paid coaches in college football history.

Brenda Tracy alleges that Mel Tucker invited her to speak to athletes about her horrific incident of being assaulted sexually by 3 Oregon State University players and the high school recruit she was years ago. Tracy was able to accept this award received from USA Today, and she has been invited by Michigan State University (MSU) to speak to on behalf of the MSU football team and to acknowledge her work in advocacy with her non-profit group, Set the Expectation. The honorary captain of this year’s spring football game was named after her which highlights the wide-ranging impact of her inspirational speeches that have impacted thousands of athletes across more than 100 colleges.
Tracy asserts that their interactions resulted in the formation of a friendship. However, she claims that on April 28th 2022 Tucker started non-consensual phone sexual relations. She insists that she was not a consenter to the behavior and made a complaint to MSU in the month of December 2022. In reply to Tracy’s complaint Tucker denied her claims when speaking with an MSU Title IX investigator that MSU was retaining to investigate the issue.

When asked by an USA Today reporter for comment, Tucker declined to provide an explanation. In the meantime, Tucker wrote a letter to the Title IX investigator in March in which he wrote the fact that “Ms. Tracy’s distortion of our intimate and consensual relationship to allegations of sexual exploitation deeply affected me.” Although acknowledging that he wasn’t particularly satisfied with his decision, Tucker insisted that he did not break any rules of behavior. .Harlon Bennett, the second coach, will take over as Michigan State’s temporary coach as Mark Dantonio will assist in the undefined position.
